Criteria
The Broome and Allen Scholarship is awarded
to students of Sephardic origin or those concentrating in Sephardic
studies. Both graduate and undergraduate degree candidates
as well as those doing research projects will be considered.
It is awarded for one year and must be renewed for successive
years. The student or researcher does not have to be living
in the United States or be a U.S. citizen but, should
be doing their studies or work in the U.S. |

Application forms MUST BE POSTMARKED NOT LATER THAN MAY 15, 2008.
Your completed application
must ALSO include
the following materials:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation, at least one must
be an academic reference.
- Copy of the 2007 Federal Income Tax Return (or its international equivalent if applicable) of the applicant, parent, or guardian.
- Official school transcripts (see details below) through the Fall 2007 semester Transcripts must be official originals and sent directly from the school(s) to ASF. Transcripts for the Spring 2008 semester must also be submitted (although not with the applications packet), and must be received and/or postmarked by JUNE 30th.
- We also recommend submitting a personal statement.
Transcript Requirements:
College students who have not completed at least
two (2) years of college must include the following transcripts:
- High School transcripts (unless previously submitted)
- Transcripts from all colleges attended up to the Fall 2007 semester
College students who have completed two (2)
or more years of college must include the following transcripts:
- Transcripts from all colleges attended up to the Fall 2007 semester
Graduate students who have not completed at
least two (2) years of graduate school must include the following
transcripts:
- Transcripts from all colleges attended (unless previously
submitted)
- Transcripts from all Graduate Schools up to the Fall 2007 semester
Graduate students who have completed two (2)
or more years of graduate school must include the following
transcripts:
- All Graduate School transcripts up to the Fall preceding
the date of application
NOTE: If you were awarded a Broome & Allen scholarship last
year and are re-applying, you only need to submit your most
current transcripts with your application.
