| The Library & Archives collects, preserves
and provides access to resources for the study of Jews tracing
their ancestry back to the Iberian Peninsula, North Africa,
the Middle East, the Balkans and the Orient.
The materials and the expertise of our Librarian
are available to individuals engaged in scholarly research
as well as anyone wishing to explore Sephardic culture and
traditions. The collection includes over 4,000 books, 150
periodicals, oral histories, videotapes, archival records
and artifacts.
Because of the threats of loss of important records from disintegration,
the library of the American Sephardi Federation with Sephardic
House is striving to identify and acquire as many materials
with Sephardic content as possible. If you have family papers,
books or other memorabilia from the countries you or our families
came from, or documents related to the history of your family's
life here in the United States, we invite you to contribute
them to our library & archives. These items can be preserved
in the state of the art conservation room at our disposal
and stored in a climate controlled archival environment. It
is hoped that organizations and individuals alike will partner
with us in the preservation of Sephardic heritage and culture.
